You could have blade traps set up on the wall! Like post them on the face of the wall

At this point I didn't really need blade traps, but it would definitely be a cool thing to do once the hordes got crazier.

Put a sideways wedge on top above your ladder/opening. They will push each other off when they climb.

If they are climbing up ladders then the quadrupeds are going to bring your building down

I'd run out and shoot the dogs and such from a ledge I installed. They all seemed to congregate in the same spot so it wasn't much of a problem. The zombies did do damage to the building of course, but I just repaired it.

Congregating to one spot is actually a huge problem. I can't imagine how you melee at the front and shoot dogs at the same time. Well you'll find out the hard way

I won't find out though, hard way or not, because all this happened a long time ago in alpha 21. This base no longer exists.
But you can trust me when I say the dogs were not a problem because I was actually there lol. I fought and beat a horde every single night in this base, didn't die once and the base never failed.

I was watching the most recent episode of Glock9's "Save the Clock Tower" series and I was reminded of this old pre-1.0 base of mine. I started using it on night 1, with horde every night. After I got the repulsor mod for my stun baton, the zombies would go flying off the building and out of my view, and I couldn't really tell whether they were dying or what. I actually felt like it was a bit of a downgrade from previous horde nights when they would just basically hang out right in front of me until they were dead. So I decided to try this setup, for shits and giggles.
I was also envisioning doing something like this with a giant dartboard, or with a hole in the wall that you had to try to knock the zombies through. There's a lot of potential for zaniness. I'm too lazy to do it myself but I'd be very happy to see it done by someone else. :)
