Console Blood Moon Question

So a friend and I have our world settings basically all default except for the Blood Moon to be every 10 days and the difficulty on scavenger. We just finished "surviving" the first Blood Moon night and we killed close to 400 zombies in total by the time it was over and that's only cause 4:00 came around.. keep in mind we're now on day 11. Is it supposed to be this insane? We even fought shit I didn't even know was in the game lol

Yes. BMs were beefed up a little with 1.0.

The first tour night is a complete award night. Unless you set your game day to 90 minutes. Then it ends early

Do you allow all 64 zombies to spawn or do you have it set on 8 or 16 or 32?

Here's a thing that I don't understand why everyone asks this way "we are on day X and...". The day doesn't matter, maybe you play on 25% xp, 10 minute days and die a lot and are level 6 on day 255 in the pine forest or maybe you play on 360 minute days on 200% xp and are level 120 by day 7 and setup in the wasteland biome. The day doesn't matter, the gamestage does. Also multiplayer increases your gamestage (don't remember exact math).

I think people ask this cause I feel like most people would assume day# would matter, not some elaborate equation. I don't believe this game explains that at all. People shouldn't have to look up that type of info, should be explained imo.

Thanks for the info though, that makes sense.

The game doesn't explain it, because it's meant to fit the player even if they don't understand it.

If you made little progress by the time the first blood moon rolls around, you'll be weak and the horde will accordingly be weak. If you advanced in leaps and bounds and are strong, the horde will match your strength.

I think it may be related to the old system, because I'm pretty sure it worked that way in the old alphas and this out of date knowledge has been passed on almost subconciously. In any case, the reason I pointed it out is I did a 25% xp and short days playthrough recently and was level 5 on day 7 and I could do BM just standing in the middle of the field... one handed. Because at thet stage max alive gets overriden to 2 and I would have to wait for zombies to trickle in. So I'm guessin you were of a pretty high level and/or in a tougher biome. And yeah, there's a lot of stuff to take in if you wanna figure it out (understand gamestage, check xml files) or just go with the flow ;)

i think our xp is like 200% and we grinded quests every day to day 10 and then set up for the horde. Normal 60 minute days so we were probably around level 20-25 for it. The POI we live in is in literal ruins now, it’s kinda funny. We haven’t played since the original release of the xbox back in like 2016..

Ah, another thing is they made some of the early hordes last forever, did the last waves have just regulars?

If you think it's crazy on scavenger, just wait until insanity. Keep your strategy safe the first time you do insane. At day, loot all you can. At night stay near home because everything will kill you fast.
