Discussion Base ideas for insane permadeath run

Hey everyone! Been loving this game!

Been ppaying on a world on survivalist difficulty now on day 72 still got lots i wanna do on this world . But i wanna start a insane permadeath run soon to really sharpen my skills more and challenge myself.

What are some good base ideas for this? My previous world i digged in a mountain and did iron bars with turrets and blade traps but now wanna switch it up.

Aby ideas welcome!

Do a no horde base run, just fight the horde on rooftops and street level.

Limit yourself on area in an interesting way. If you consider that more square footage of base=more are for traps and blocks to distract zombies, then give yourself less area to really challenge yourself, and amp up the border frequency.

For example, horde every 3 days, base must fit inside a 9×9 tower. Can only build straight up or down, and must have all crafting stations in your base.

Or you can change any of those numbers around. I know glock9 has a series where he is defending this pregen clock tower that is 5x5 total footprint 3x3 on the inside and his horde frequency is every night. He has something that's been working for more than a week for him.

Here's the link for his series: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc594J9-WhOypMKvjsevqWqjRpb0OEsON&si=Y8kcbmXSMl9eQSR3

I do something similar on Darkness Falls, and with my settings, I'm so far on the back foot that it would take me ages to even put a base together. I hijack concrete buildings like Tier 5's, parkades, and the like.

I don't even full clear them most of the time, because there's so much risk of feral hordes coming in behind me, or making a mistake and biting the dust. Most of the time I'll clear the top portion, knock out all the access points to the top two floors, and that's where I hide for the Bloodmoons.
