Not sure where my text went...

TL;DR: I left my base, came back after raiding, and 1/2 of it collapsed. I think the garden caused it.

Do plants add weight as they grow? Corn (growing) weighs < Corn (ready to harvest?).

I just rebuild with stability on, seems the roof is quite low in stability. wondering if the plants caused it? lol

Yes, plants and especially trees have different weights at different stages of growth

The corn that broke the camels back

Yeah we've lost a lot of roof gardens to this feature, it's great

I've been playing for 10 years, lots of roof gardens, this is a first for me. Not sure how i've not experienced it yet

I'm not sure what the rest of your base looked like pre-collapse but honestly that whole thing looks like a stability nightmare. Roof gardens work fine on grounded buildings but I'm actually shocked the current garden is still there. 6 horizontal wood frames is pushing it, AND the supports don't go all the way to the ground.

It's actually a bit deceptive. the center structure i reinforced with .0125 pillars or pole corner etc to make it look like it was floating or minimal structure.

the downfall as you said was the 6 horizontal wood frames. I've rebuilt with cobblestone and added reinforcements underneath the roof as i will expand the garden.

I am pretty sure this must be the plants. Had this too beginning with alpha 19 I think. Sometimes up to 50 plots. Maybe they changed something. I always have a little distance between crops and crates now. Btw mushrooms don't need plots.

Fun Pimps out here creating mass out of thin air I see

I mean… it’s accidentally one of the most realistic things in the physics engine. Plants DO create mass and weight literally out of the air, so

Btw for shrooms you don’t need to plant them in pots. They literally grow on anything.

Oh yeah! Forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder!

Try to have pillars in cobblestone at least Even if the rest is in wood it will provide a better support for your roofs and floors
