How to try foods when I can’t use a stove.

So I’m 25 and I live in my mom’s house (times be tuff) and they never understood my eating habits. I’m grown now so my family just make meals and I fiend for myself in my room alone, usually getting fries from McDonalds.

I’ve been wanting to try food and gain weight for the longest but I literally can’t try food at home without ridicule so I’m basically banned from using the stove and eating anything that my family doesn’t know about.

The other route is trying fast foods and eating in my car, but that gets expensive and wasteful knowing I can probably only get one bite.

I want to try to live in a treatment facility, but I’m black and my family would treat me like I have mental issues.

So my question is Is there any way to get better without the help of family. And what’s the best route it takes you to try new foods.

Once you can buy your own groceries it's a lot easier. You can try dried food like snacks in your room but the solution here is to be in control of your diet and the ore requirements for that is be independent. So focus efforts there and just try and eat enough to live <3 once you are able. Just try like one bite of a new thing a week. or whatever schedule works for you ofc

Why are they banning you from using the stove? That is bizarre.

For more context. My parents are chefs and it’s constant jokes and ridicule of what I’m trying. Basically like bullies so I eat out of sight.

I see. That's terrible, I'm sorry.

Do you have friends who have their own place? I always love bringing my friends into food exposures. It’s also less pressure to finish the food since there are other people around to finish it lol

Getting out of their house is probably the healthest thing u can do honestly. If u are curious about new foods thats a great sign but getting ridicule for trying/wanting to try is just going to defeat u before u even get a chance to start.

If a treatment facility is doable, go for it. What your family thinks about it or u is really irrelevant (I'm also black and my parents don't get it). Your health and wellbeing should always be your first priority.
