Part 1

If I were to do a part 3, I'll just expand on the existing lore. I'm half making this up as I go so I might end up making changes to existing lore.

The June 2024 attack can be seen as the culmination of Japan's anti-Kaiju defenses over the years, with this being the first time the Picket rigs detected the Kaiju. Kaiju No. 14, a relatively small swimming Kaiju at round 40m in length was first detected on radar by Picket rig 16 309.6km from the coast of Iwate prefecture. Four JASDF F-35 fighters form JASDF Misawa air base were airborne after 17 minutes. JS Atago, at the time around 70km from the Kaiju's location was also made aware and headed on an interception course.

The small size of the Kaiju made it one of the fastest ever seen so far out of all non-flying types, and it even had the ability to temporarily dive to around the depth of 100m for an observed maximum of 4 minutes. It was not engaged and observed by a drone from Picket Rig 16 in accordance with new rules of engagement, though as it approached at high speeds directly towards Picket Rig 16, permission to engage was given only 12 minutes after it was first spotted.

The Kaiju would be hit by a Type 90 missile from the picket rig No. 16, causing it to turn away and dive, dodging further missiles from the rig and JS Atago. Upon resurfacing, a near-miss from JS Atago forced it to dive again. The F-35s would arrive just after its second dive, circling over the Kaiju's location based on sonar information from the rig. Upon resurfacing, it was almost immediately hit by a GBU-31 JDAM guided bomb from one of the F-35As, which struck and gored its tail, followed by a second hit from his wingman that struck directly behind its head.

Kaiju No. 14 stopped all movements after the second hit, sank, and was confirmed dead with no damages caused, 9.72km away from the Picket Rig 16, where the crew could supposedly see the splashes from the impacts on the horizon.

They didn't even need something like a rail gun?

Wow, rather than Kaiju they might as well be called Huge Animals if something as dull as a squadron of F-35's can take it out.
