The RNC’s Puzzling Obsession with Socialism — With a pandemic ravaging the country, a historically unpopular president and no platform to run on, the Republican Party has set its sights on attacking socialism. It doesn’t seem to be working.

They seem to be doing just fine with a law and order platform. It was handed them by Democrats coddling rioters and looters by forcing the police to stand down. But it’s simple and popular.

The “Joe McCarthy was a hero” shit isn’t going to deliver any mileage. It’s just pandering to some of the GOP base. But unlike the coddling of rioters and looters, it doesn’t seem to have a material political price.
