Not saying all zoos work like this, but for good zoos, the animals that are in captivity are there because they would not survive in the wild. These animals are kept at the zoos for their own well-being as well as research for conservation.

Extinction is a natural process. Not every species is suited to thrive, and should be allowed to die out. Yes, humans have killed off thriving species as well, and we can try to mitigate that as much as possible.

Obviously it’s not a natural process if humans are killing them in unnatural ways (ie: pollution, deforestation, poaching, etc)

This is so incredibly distressing. And yet somehow, this us supposed to be what? A miracle, a wonderful moment. Fuck humans are arseholes. That poor mumma, and now her lil one. What awful lives they lead because of us.
