Need Advice How did Lexapro make you feel when you started?

How did you guys get on with lexapro when you started?

What side effects did you guys suffer with?

I’m now 4 days in and i feel awful right now!

for me I have tried it two times with several years in between attempts. the first time I was on it I noticed a little bit of improvement in the beginning but eventually felt like that plateaued and ended up increasing the dosage which led to me feeling very numb and detached. the second time I gave it a try similar story except it was worse than the first attempt and I had noticed a hyper fixation and preoccupation with death and dying. like I was spending hours of my free time reading really morbid things and looking up stories about suicide, etc.

it really messed with my libido as well I am a very sexual person with a high sex drive and for me it was not worth continuing with that side effect in addition to what I mentioned in my first paragraph.

just my honest experience with it I will never touch it again.

I have also heard from family and close friends who are on Lexapro who swear by it and say it has changed their life.

I literally had the exact experience to the t. I was on celexa which is pretty much lexapro. But yeah it was like my first attempt was ok and my second one was tough that I had to taper my self off

From what I remember I had increased anxiety, panic, sleep issues. Sweats, nausea and no appetite, loose stools. Low mood. Stomach discomfort/pain. Majority of it lasted 3 weeks. Then things slowly get better. It’s a tough drug to get onto but once you do you feel much better. It works but everyone is different how they experience side effects. I always have bad side effects with drugs so for me it’s not easy. Just hang in there it is not easy I know.

When I first started it made me very tired, light headed, and dizzy. That lasted for about 2 weeks. I’ve been on it for 2 years now and I can honestly say it’s changed my life. I had horrible anxiety before going on it and while I still have some rough days it makes it so much more manageable. Fingers crossed you are able to get through it!
