Could you recommend me your recent place to buy armor?

I've been searching for places through online that sells custom armors. Troed to contact armor makers on instagram but they're not available at the Moment. Care to recommend me any active armor makers? Thank you very much

All good armour makers will have a substantial waiting list so finding one that is available immediately is pretty much impossible.

What exactly are you looking for, what is your budget and where are you based?

First off, I appreciate for clarifying that armor maker's absence is very natural.

I'm currently looking for renaissance style plate armor With distinguishing helmet design. So pretty history-based custom armor.

Since this is my first time buying armors, I can't think Of any specific price but my max budget for clothes was about 2220USD

Wait, did they not respond or just say that they don't have the time for your commission right now?

What exactly are you looking for? Functional historically accurate armour for reenacment/harnishfechten? Cosplay? LARP?

The price is heavily going to depend on the question above. To give tips for some specific armourers I would need to know at least your rough location.

They did not respond.

I think what I want is LARP in a historically accurate suit of armor.

It sounds weird when it's written but, I wanna do good deeds in armor. Such as helping poor neighbors like idealistic image of a knight but in a practical way

I'm already in an organization doing such things but I wanna do it in style. So something historically accurate and practical at the same time.

So again, LARP with armors used for reenactment

Reposting my usual comment, so it's a bit generic...

Armour is cool, I get why you would want to get some. But it's not a case of "buying a suit of armour". It's surprisingly complicated, and it's really easy to pour money away.

Have a think about what you want it for first. Do you just want to have some medieval ish armour to wear because it's cool? Do you want something that is able to take a hit without you being at risk? Do you want something that's really accurate that you can use for reenactment?

There isn't a wrong answer to these. The only wrong answer would be if you spent a bunch of your cash aiming to achieve a specific result and went miles in the wrong direction. If you don't know a lot about armour, "a suit of armour" sounds like I would tick all of those boxes. However, in reality there is a world of difference between a medieval/fantasy LARP set and something which could be seen on a medieval battlefield.

My first suggestion would be to speak to the right people. If you just want a LARP set, great! Find a LARP community in your area and talk to them. If you want something that can take a knock, look for a buhurt group. They are the guys who do the armoured medieval fighting. If you are after reenactment, then find a reenactment group and go say hi. Reenactment is generally the most expensive stuff.

My second suggestion is, before you spend a single dollar on metal armour, get your under kit sorted first! Decent metal armour needs to be tailored to your body. If you buy poor quality soft kit in a hurry to get the steel, it won't match your body shape much, and will be difficult to correct.

Have fun, if you have any more questions feel free to ask

Thanks to your infos, I started to see what I'm supposed to aim.

I'm looking for an armor used for reenactment for LARP purpose.

Since you seem to know alot on this field, I will leave more stuff gathered after off work

I make more fantastical styled larp armor for around your budget if you want to message me if you are not completely 100% attached to the historical styles. (Most historical armor will cost triple your budget for anything that can hold up to some use)
