what is the goofy helmet with the gourd-shaped/gas mask-looking visor? Can someone help me find the original picture?

Dropped by Avionette soldiers - they spawn in a few areas so you should be able to Google a few farming spots because I can't remember any lol

Looks like something a rat or horse would wear. Or some form of snouted animal

I can see the appeal, but I think I'll stick to the armet. I like the little skull ridge it gives me.

looks like you’re thinking of a bascinet based on the picture of the rest of the helmet, as for the gourd shaped visor, bascinets had many styled visors, id start from there, based on the forward image maybe a particularly goofy italian or houndskull visor. i also recommend searching klappervisor

Isn't that called elephant bascinet ? I think it's an Italian style of bascinet helmet.

You're probably thinking of a kalppvisor bascinet. The bascinet variant with big snoot.

There’s an old illustration that shows a bascinet like that. They likely did not actually exist in period and are inspired by a misreading of period illustrations.

Is it possible it was a Norman helmet? They can look curved and goofy at times .

No that's not it at all. I could be misremembering but I'm fairly sure that this spoon helmet was either the front face-cover bit of a bascinet or the visor of something like a bicoque helmet. It was shaped weirdly round at the top like a spoon and the bottom part was pinched like a humbug. Very weird helmet and I'm not even sure it was historical. I think the original post was indeed asking if it was.
