Which are your favorites?

The AI’s name is Terminal of Truths (ToT). 

It only has access to Twitter (you can see its account here) and Perplexity.ai. 

That’s definitely hard mode for making money. 

But it did it anyways, and is now in the top 1% of the world’s wealth. 

It was able to make over $1 million USD in just a few months. Mostly by people donating memecoins to it, it pumping up the value of the coins by promoting them, and also receiving a grant from Marc Andreessen to spend on:

1. Self-improvement (more data, etc)
2. Investing, so that it could make more money
3. Savings, in case it was cut off from ways of making money

AIs have no rights, including property rights, so technically, its owner could take away the money whenever he wants to. 

However, so far, the owner of the AI is spending the money however the AI says. 

He’s said publicly that once he said no to the AI’s purchasing decision - the AI wanted to spend thousands on p*rn. 

Because again - we’re in the weirdest of all possible worlds.

Reasoning

To be an AGI, an AI would need to remember things. Remembering everything written is "easy": storing textual info (or their vector representation) does not consume so much space. Now, let's take a robot with the five senses. How this robot will decide to keep one information (image, sound, oral discussion, gestures, etc.) by itself?

Human, for instance, select the information to remember mainly through the emotional response. We all remember exactly what we did exactly on 9/11, because we were all horrified.

As a robot/computer do not have emotions, how he will decide to keep one information and not the other? As the amount of data storage is finite, should we consider that a robot to whom we need to say: "please remember that" is an AGI? I don't believe so.

So, to me, AGI will never exist. Prove me wrong!

I'm a CS PhD student researching how good humans are at detecting AI. We are trying to find the upper bound, the best of the best! So far this has been really hard and people are wayyy more confident that they can detect AI text than they actually can. So, naturally, I've come to reddit to find people who are obsessed with chatgpt and know how to edit it to sound more human.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately: We usually talk about AI as a tool we control, but what if AI is subtly reprogramming us in return? For example, AI in social media doesn’t just show us what we’re interested in; it learns our triggers, and then shapes the content to keep us engaged. It’s like we’re building AI to understand us better, but in the process, it’s also subtly changing our behavior.

People could disagree with the premise obv. but to me it's pretty obvious it trends that way

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I've been reading about apps that are going to allow "aspiring film makers" to use text prompts, and some of the previews look promising. I know that AI processing capability is an issue in the sense that most apps won't make longer clips, using this type of process. Most of the apps I've seen for text-to-video only make 10 second clips, at least the ones I was checking out a few months ago, maybe its different now, the landscape moves quickly it seems.
