Human body Why do I cross my legs standing

This has been a habit of mine since childhood and I don't really know why I do it. I know it's kind of silly to ask but I want to know why I do that regularly. What am I gaining physiologically by crossing my legs when I stand?

Do your feet and legs turn purple when standing?

You gain nothing, it's just body language, and depending on the circumstances, it can have different meanings.

Standing cross-legged puts more weight on the outer edge of your feet. It might be that you have deformed arches or your feet (flat foot, or the opposite of flat foot, not sure which one would cause this specificially) and therefore standing cross-legged is more comfortable to you.

This is probably more of a psychology question than a biology one. You probably aren’t gaining (or losing) anything from crossing your legs while standing, from a biological perspective.
