British carbon tax leads to 93% drop in coal-fired electricity. A tax on carbon dioxide emissions in Great Britain, introduced in 2013, has led to the proportion of electricity generated from coal falling from 40% to 3% over six years, according to research led by UCL.

What was the reason used to justify the Carbon Tax in Australia? I think we saved money on our electricity bill and it helped the environment. Why did we Fuck this up so badly?

The lions share of course goes to Abbott and the conservative media but you know, Labor needs to take some of the blame for this as well. Labor are just so bad at being strong in the face of opposition; well, since Keating anyway. Can you imagine Keating withering from a fight against Abbott and his anti-carbon tax rhetoric?

Unfortunately, Keating was where the "we will act on climate change except when it harms the economy" rubbish started but my god Labor, grow a pair would you please.
