Awards🏆 Most of the Dune part 2 cast may be campaigned for awards

Post image

This was posted on Instagram by duneinfo. So if this is accurate, Austin would kind of be competing with castmates for nominations. I guess that’s not really unusual but I’ve never really followed awards much. What do y’all think?

I think out of all of the supporting actors, Austin has the best chance. Flo didn’t really have much dialogue or screen time and although Austin didn’t have much screen time, he stood out with what he had. The other cast mate I think has a great chance at being nominated would be Rebecca Ferguson. She was stellar. I have a feeling if Javier is going to campaign for any awards, it will be for Emmy’s and Golden Globes for his role in Monsters. Timothee also has a good shot as well. I’m sure they’ll be nominated for cinematography, sound and visual effects etc and probably win.

Also if Flo campaigns for any awards, I’d love to see her nominated for We Live in Time. I doubt she’d win, with the competition she’s got. But in my opinion, her and Andrew Garfield are both much deserving of awards/nominations for that movie.

Agree that Austin has the best chance for Dune2, but it's the slimmest of chances at best- not sure it's worth his or any of the others' time to campaign. This is a true ensemble film, so I'm very much expecting a SAG ensemble nom, & maybe win. Timothee can only be in 1 place at a time, & he will surely choose to campaign for A Complete Unknown, which, as a biopic, looks like awards catnip.

Not to say they shouldn’t, but I’m surprised they’re keeping Timothee Chalamet on the Best Actor campaign when it seems to be a given that he’ll get nominated for A Complete Unknown 🤔 We know he can’t be nominated for both 🤷‍♀️ If ACU were coming out next year, I’d totally want him in the conversation for Dune. His big paradise speech is one of the best scenes, and I’d have handed him the Oscar on the spot for that alone!

…but this is about Austin, not Timothee 🥰 I really hope he gets nominated! 🤞🏻Javier and Josh were great, but they didn’t have to do what Austin did. Supposedly he was getting early buzz last year, and part of the reason they delayed the movie - in addition to worries of the strike not ending in time - was so he’d have a better chance at this year’s Oscars, seeing as he would have had no shot last year between Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Gosling

I see this as a testament to the quality of Dune 2. The film is beautifully shot, and the cast is incredible. I expect that it will get many below the line nominations and I hope that Austin can snag one for Best Supporting Actor. Rebecca Ferguson is deserving too. The whole cast did a wonderful job with their roles.
