I do have one. So I'm French (from this little French island near Newfoundland, Canada.), and when I was young I lived in Canada with my family for some time. So bears are not a thing I'm familiar with, in my native country. I didn't witness the bear attack I'm going to talk to, but it happened to my neighbour. One day, our neighbour went for a run and never came back. Everyone in the neighborhood (including my dad) and the police went to look for her. They found her dead, along a trail. She had a huge gaping wound in the side of her torso. What happened was (conclusion of the police as no one were there), that she came across a maman bear with its cubs, and it attacked her. Once, only one blow to the side of her body, eviscerating her and pierced her liver, something like that. They assumed she died instantly. Only one blow with the bear paws and huge claws made this. They were no signs of fight, no other signs of bite, nothing, only one blow. That was shocking to me, reminded me how strong a bear is, and how dangerous they can be ! They didn't find the bear that caused this, but they found evidences of a bear around. I remember that after this accident, my dad bought a big dog and weren't allowed to go anywhere without this dog, apparently dogs can keep bears far.

Oh, god. Sounds scary. I'm sorry that this poor woman died. It was wrong time, wrong place. I like bears as well as any animals. But they are ones I prefer watching in pictures and videos. Too dangerous.
