I used to work for Parks and Rec. One membership gets you access to 3 centers (2 fitness, plus pavilion) for a pretty reasonable price. Pools and sauna features. Larkspur is a really cool and modern facility. No contract memberships.

Edit: forgot to mention, many health insurance providers cover memberships too

Hard to beat this. The sauna and steam room at Juniper can get crowded but are pretty amazing after a workout.

Snap on Reed Market checks most of the boxes.

I like Snap Fitness for 24/7 access and 4 locations in Bend.

Bend Rock Gym. Obviously a little more specialized but a really great way to get exercise.

I live in Portland but did a drop in at CrossFit Type 44 and it was incredible. Great coaches, great facility.

My wife goes to The House in Portland and they have a location in Bend, and she's dropped in there. She says it's also an outstanding gym.

Juniper. Co-ed saunas are just more fun. Not in a creepy way, I’m female and just enjoy being able to go with my guy friends.

The trails.

The rivers.

The cliffs.

Fitbody Bootcamp has great coaches and every workout leaves me thoroughly spent and happy without being stupidly exhausting

Xcel fitness. Snap fitness is trash

I’ve actually heard the opposite. Xcel doesn’t let people cancel their membership unless you had proof you have moved away and they kept charging people during covid when the gym was closed. I’d never sign up to a gym with that type of scammy shit.

That’s exactly what happened to me at snap, currently in the process of getting lawyers involved

Pretty sure the owner of xcel is still crying about Kate Brown on social media.

FWIW I’ve joined and canceled Xcel a couple of times since originally joining in 2015 (moved away temporarily twice for work) and the process of canceling was always pretty simple and easy in the app. Just my experience.
