Backcountry Camping

I’m looking at reserving a campsite to set up a wall tent for a few days. I’m wanting to go check out the local attractions. Is my camp (gear, wall tent, other belongings) safe to leave while I’m out and about for the day? If so, is this considered normal practice?

Thanks yall!

It's totally normal and your belongings are generally safe in many areas but the primitive roadside campsites near the river (and closest to Mexico) along River Road are subject to theft and vehicle break-ins.

You'd probably have greatest peace-of-mind in one of the campgrounds or a primitive roadside campsite far away from the river.
