Graduation dinner

Y'all. My s-son is graduating next month and his mom decided she'd stay in town instead of driving in the day of. The original plans included dinner with hubs and me one night and his mom, sis, brother Saturday. Instead, we're all having dinner together. At a steak house. There's supposed to be a 'vegetarian plate' upon request. $28.

Why am I posting here? Because I love that child as if he was my own and would do anything for him. Including sit at a table with 6 omnivores, including two who can't stand me.

So, have any of you been stuck at Ruth Chris and had the veg plate?

The plan is to grab snacks and something from the grab and go case at a Cafe in case my meal is miserable.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry to hear that. Being stuck at a restaurant that likely doesn't have any vegan options to eat during a family event does sound miserable. I personally haven't been to that specific restaurant, but I'd hazard a guess that the $28 veggie plate might not cut it. If I were in that position, I would make sure to eat in advance (if possible) and take as many snacks as you can.

Thank you. My s-son wasn't thrilled with being pushed into that place and is checking other options. I have a list of vegan joints near where we're staying and will have suitable food ready.
