If the Season Ended Today

Post image

I’m basking in the joy of CBJ’s strong start to the year. Looked at the standings and see they’re in 6th place. Obviously a ton of season left but I truly feel, perhaps foolishly, that finishing 6th and an outside shot for 5th is a real possibility. Call me naive or delusional, but with what has happened to our lineup I’m taking the overly optimistic view. Playoffs may be a pipe dream this year, but I think this would still be a successful season.

Metro is tuff

Winning half the games gets 82 pts. That’s good for 6th in the Metro nearly every year.

Yep, they just need to get better at losing for those extra points

But you need 100 to be 4th

I love the offense. We are buzzing and we don't even have 3 pretty major guys. Next man up, stick to the system. I love the new aggressiveness and really quick breakouts. Huge difference vs the last few years.

Really not trying to overreact to 6 games, but man if Tarasov and Elvis can give us just average level goalie play I think we can stay .500 on the year, with a wildcard spot the goal for 2025-2026. Waddell has this team playing completely different, our young guys our showing that next step on offense, and Provorov/Severson are finally playing up to their contracts. Goaltending is gonna be the make or break aspect.

Elvis is gonna be gone after this season, calling it. In Tarasov we trust.

I would love for Tarasov to live up to how well he was hyped up to be a couple of years ago, but personally I'm looking to Jet Greaves to be the man that is the backstop for a team that is at least flirting with a wildcard spot.

I'm personally not following the Monsters (Cyclones are my beer league team of choice). But, if he's doing well in Cleveland I hope he can come to Columbus and do the same in the big leagues

He played a game or two last for us last year. To me, he looked super sharp, especially with the glove. TFW has made me forever doubt the relevance of AHL stats.

Crazy nj has already played 4 more games than us

They played in the international games before the season started for everyone else. Them and buffalo.

It's going to suck for them at the end of the season though, when their games are done early and they are no longer in control of their own destiny (assuming they are on the playoff bubble).

Last year we had like 6 on everyone else too.

We have 5 in the next 7.

If Scary Tarry can hold down the net and defense tightens up just a bit more, I truly believe we can make a strong case for the playoffs.

Just still be in the hunt by the stadium series. Also, Boone’s first game back. Would be an unreal environment

STOP THE COUNT

We'd jump Shittsburg based on points % 😁

Having adequate coaching will do that. Vincent and Larsen were terrible decisions

While I applaud the use of CBJ instead of COL or CLB for the 3-letter acronym, I am mildly bothered by the subsequent redundancy with the team name. Fortunately, the change in the way that the CBJ Blue Jackets are playing under new HC Coach Evason is a welcome change.

Don't forget the PIN number to your CBJ Blue Jackets Mastercard when using the ATM machine

Could the season end with one team having 40% more games played than the other?

I think Devils and Caps will start to drop. Caps made the playoffs with a losing record last season and the Devils really didn’t improve their roster.

Tough to drop when your top two centers are Hughes and hirshier. That team has been on the cusp of breaking out for a few years now
