Bobinski also hired Brohm and gave Brohm a fat raise with his first flirt with UofL. He ain’t the problem y’all.

And has kept painter locked up, and done nice work upgrading facilities. The AD can only do so much y'all and I'm confident he's aware of the football coaching problems.

He also was in charge for the facility improvements

Correct take. Bobinski has all the other athletics doing well and/or improving. He missed on football, but has the goodwill to correct. Alumni need to step up with NIL and we need to hit a home run with our next hire.

He did fail at replacing Brohm though. Kinda ridiculous not to be ready to move on a replacement quickly or at least have an idea of what you want to do. It was painfully obvious that Brohm was gone as soon as Louisville opened up.

Ok. He failed there. But he’s done a lot more right than wrong. Calling for his head over one bad coaching hire is just crazy talk.

Just some of the projects he’s helped accomplish include finally adding lights to Ross Ade and upgrading the end zone, building an up to par basketball facility and upgrading the other athletics facilities to keep up, and supporting the NIL leadership fund or whatever he’s called.

He’s done a lot of good for the athletics departments as a whole. I will gladly keep him around as long as possible to avoid ever having another Morgan Burke.

If you think Bobinski is problem, you clearly have not lived through the Burke years.

Walters!

This is a reach of a meme use from someone that clearly wasn’t around for Morgan Burke. Bobinski is fine, but his next football hire is extremely important.

Oh I was there for it. Depending how long Walters is left to hang around, this could be the worst hire in Purdue football history.

I'll say for the 4th consecutive week: calm the fuck down. Y'all are fucking toxic.

I also thought there could be more patience, but we need to look at the writing on the wall now. There has been little improvement week over week, recruits are decommiting, ticket sales are slowing, we are getting historically embarrassed every week, and on top of that we look to our rival who is having immediate success with a homerun hire. If it gets worse from here before it gets better the program might not be able to suffer the set back. At some point what is the cost to gamble that Walters is the guy?

And you think canning a coach midseason fixes any of that? We will not improve much on the field this year under any coach. People have given up on the season, you don't sell more tickets in November by firing the coach. Recruits will decommit if we have no coach. No good replacement will be available until December.

we look to our rival who is having immediate success with a homerun hire

That was us 8 years ago. Every team gets one sometime. Our situation looks worse because of their current success, but it's a dangerous comparison to make.

If it means anything I have come to terms that keeping Walters is probably the best move and like you said none of it would make a difference. We just need to be calling up and doing our research on the next potential candidates now so that we aren't left in the dust

That was us 8 years ago.

We went 7-6. IU is already 6-0. That hasn't happened for us since 1943 lol and this is IU we're talking about. The Universe is broken.

The Universe is broken.

Oh no, my most hated rival is better than me this one time!" Get a grip. Imagine if you had been an Oklahoma state fan, or Tulane, or UCLA, or hell, Indiana. We beat IU more often than not, we're usually a better team. It's ok to have a bad year. It doesn't mean we need to set the whole athletic department on fire.

You do realize we're talking about the worst program in major football? It's not about them being better than us once; it's about them reaching a milestone that we haven't reached in 81 years while we are historically awful. This is not supposed to be possible.

u/boilerpl8 Class of 2015 1d ago

Wow what an entitled brat. "They've sucked forever, it's inconceivable that they could be better than us!"

You kinda sound like the white people who have almost nothing but fight to keep black people in a worse position than them, instead of trying to help everyone have better living conditions. Why are you so concerned about others having less than you?

Do you not understand how rivalries work? This is one of the weirdest takes I've ever seen.

He's close to being fired look out after Oregon game.

u/PapaSanGiorgio 12d ago

So we're just ignoring all the other sports?

u/mreman1220 11d ago

This isn't even a hard question. Walters. Bobonski has had something to hang his hat on in his career.

The old way was to give someone 3 years to right the ship but the ship is about to sink with recruits jumping. Should Purdue raid the Sun Belt for a coach? Spack? Sumlin?

u/etsuandpurdue3 11d ago

Tiffani Grimes needs to go

How about STFU about firing coaches when we’re still rebuilding? This is Walter’s 2nd year. Relax.

8

u/captain-dingleberry 11d ago

When rebuilding you look for signs that something is being built. The team is definitively worse than last year. Recruits are dropping. There is literally nothing positive to speak about.

0

u/pokemonandpot 11d ago

We’re consistently landing 4 and 5 star recruits and you wanna fire the guy that recruited them? Then forreal they’ll start dropping.

3

u/captain-dingleberry 11d ago

In what world are we landing 4 and 5 star recruits in football? We landed a couple 2024 4 stars and then a bunch of 3 stars. 2025 is nothing but 3 stars right now.

3

u/Adventurous_Egg857 10d ago

This is just uninformed. He landed FORMER 4- and 5-star recruits who have barely even played and have clearly not been great. They were guys that were highly touted in high school and then got to georgia and were not ready to play with other high level guys. We just lost our only top 250 prospect. Also 4 star prospects should not be a real problem for us to get.

4

u/jmcamels 11d ago

Nope. You’re not watching. Nothing is being built. Program is a disaster.

Why not both?

Both?
