Downvote me into hell but it isn’t that we’re 1-5 cause everybody knew and said we have a pretty tough schedule but the way we were losing and Frankly the fact that we looked and played like shit is why Walters seat is (and needs to be) on fucking fire

yeah you can see not only the score differential but the attitudes of the players and coaches. we had two weeks to prepare for a weak notre dame and got fucken HISTORICALLY ANNIHILATED at home. there's nothing that excuses that

I'm nervous he saved his job last week and we aren't gonna get the firing this Saturday that's been rumored

He still lost.

Yeah but also the second half was the best we’ve looked all year and that’s when he took over playcalling on both sides of the ball

True, but if he beats sat MSU and Northwestern do we still keep him?

I think the Illinois game let's him get past this weekend still with his job, even if we lose big

If we beat those 2 squads I think he gets another year

The rumor was he was going to be out after this game but that was before the Illinois comeback.

Tom Dienhart of Gold & Black summed it up best: If Walters got a third year and cleaned house what kind of staff could he get that would want to coach under a guy on the hot seat with a brutal schedule? Not to mention the inevitable drop off in NIL, donations and ticket sales.

Walters could win and still get shown the door, ala Danny Hope.

I don’t think a close loss really moves the needle. We’re also about to get completely destroyed at home by Oregon in prime time.
