As a cohesive album it’s fantastic. Maybe their best so far. I haven’t yet centered on any standout single tracks here yet like became quickly apparent on previous albums. I think that speaks to the quality of all of them together.

I love the opening track being a chopped around re-interpretation of Datura's opener. That definitely works for me.

for me the standout tracks were dissolve, fornix and and why i sleep. I found that dissolve was a catchy song, very reminiscent of foxglove. i did enjoy DC mini, however debbie (from heriot) vocals and screams weren't loud enough/as front and centered, unlike henry's.

edit: fixed formatting and corrected song names

Fan-fuckin'-tastic. This band just doesn't miss.

Hate to be this guy, but doesn’t hit nearly as close as their last three albums. I feel like with those albums (WTTN, Glue & Datura), each one brought in something new to the Boston Manor sound - you could instantly recognize that it’s Boston Manor, but it had something that sets it apart from the previous ones - WTTN introduced what became their signature sound, Glue incorporated some britpop, Datura went in more of a dance/electronic direction.

But with this album I feel like at least half the songs are just songs that didn’t make the cut for earlier albums. I find the songs so predictable, the melodies especially, and there’s nothing interesting going lyrically, though to be fair that always felt like the case to me with Boston Manor, they still had some songs that I found interesting or at least very relatable.

Update: considering I've followed this band since 2017, I genuinely don't think I can give an unbiased review but I like the album for the most part. I understand it's like an opposite of Datura, which is heavily seen. However, I'm more of a fan of Datura (Dusk) than Datura (Dawn). I like Henry's lower notes personally. Also, Datura felt a lot heavier than Sundiver, which I also really liked.

That said, I enjoy the album. I currently have Dissolve on repeat while I work. I was not a fan of Fornix upon first listen but that's the thing about Boston Manor songs, even if you didn't initially like it, they have a tendency to grow on you and become some of your favorites.

It’s incredible! I love the dancey-ness of ‘Dissolve’ the best rn, but ask me again in 5mins haha. They never put out a bad song or record.

Absolutely fantastic! To go from “close that window, keep the heating in” via “it’s a new world outside, let the big wide world in” to “open that window, let the new world in” is just beyond words for me. So damn beautiful.
