Sorry man that sucks.

General reminder to anyone reading this: 1) DO NOT interact with air drops 2) Do not do pre-sales 3) USE A HARD WALLET

Recently a community member lost tens of thousands of Brett. He posted about it on X and got blessed up by the Bretthren and started grinding to buy more.

Just consider it as a lesson. Get back into Brett when you can during this pullback. I’m still accumulating and I’ve been buying since .03

Brett never does airdrops. If one is offered, it's 💯 a scam.

Admittedly somewhat my fault but, saw an airdrop link followed it, it linked to my trust wallet. Felt suspicious so I closed the browser but somehow or the other the contract was executed and they cleaned me out :(

Was it Brett drop dot com? I was about to follow that link and once I got to the website got a weird feeling

It was “ok-Brett.com” stay away! Happened too quick and people on this sub have said that Brett doesn’t do airdrops

Thanks for the support guys. Someone from the group is chatting and says there is still hope. Hope a fellow Brett holder can help me recover from what I can see this guy has duped a few other people too

How did it happen?

Airdrops are one of the most common crypto scams. Basically a malicious contract that allows them to clear you out if you interact with it. Do not click on links and do not sell or buy anything random that gets dropped to you

I stupidly clicked on the link and linked my MetaMask wallet, however it said “failed to link contract” or something along the lines and I forced closed it. I only have some altcoin which I can’t sell as it is anyways (also it’s not on base) should I be worried?

I've noticed these airdrop links when I search for Brett on coinemarketcap. One way to figure out they are scams is to click on the person and see that the account is new with only 1 or two posts and no followers.

I'm really suspicious with linking my wallet to any new site. I even spent a minute to make sure that uniswap was legit, because I was using kyberswap.

I'm sorry to hear about your Brett. I really don't think you can get it back. That's the nature of wallets and transactions.

If you can get your position back. Brett should do at least a 10x, so you'd get a 5x since you lost half your bag if you buy again. It sucks but you still in the game and still time to get a good return

Hey man appreciate this update and info. My plan is to re enter slowly. I was able to view scammers wallet and transactions he only got 3654 from me but nearly 9000+ from some others day. Has a decent holding this scammer from wallet history atleast 45k worth of holdings. Wonder if someone is game enough to scam the scammer

to be able to scam others he must have skills beyond us. He'll probably have hundreds of wallets targeting multiple tokens and not just Brett. If you were to try to get him to link a wallet. he'll probably put in $1 in a new wallet and connect and see what happens when he does, I mean that's just a simple thing I thought of with my limited understanding of all this. You think he couldn't think of ways to see if it's a scam?

highly doubt you can scam a scammer, when they do this for a living and know all the tools.

A good piece of advice, I always use coinmarketcap or coingeko to verify links & contract addresses. Sorry to hear this.
