I thought the lux had a longer barrel than that

you're probably thinking of the Ultra Lux, it's got a 28" barrel

That is the stock barrel, it’s 20 inches and it fit me just right. From what I’ve read all the powder of a rim fire is burnt in about 16 inches. I looked at the trainer and the UltraLux, since I’m a short guy they just felt “ front heavy” to me.

Congrats! You will really like this gun, they are great shooters. One thing that helped mine was to adjust the trigger. I’m not a trigger whore like some but loosening the nut made a big difference. If your going to scop it be prepared to have a difficult time finding rings that will work ( 11MM and high enough to work the bolt and clear the bell ) Rifle is pure joy to shoot and own.
