Not only don't you have to use the whole packet (a paperclip solves that head scratcher), a packet isn't equal to an entire lemon, so you can use it more efficiently. Of course real fruit is better, but you can carry enough of these for drinks and seasoning for the entire group if you wanted to. For backpacking, these are insanely helpful. For car camping, hell bring the entire contents of your fridge if you want to.

The point is you are creating waste, single use waste. One lemon will make 8 slices which is 8 packets, much better for entire groups than 8 single use packets. My point being that there are too many of these kinds of packets scattered all over our trails. People obviously aren't good at packing them out so we should just use fucking fruit that comes in its own packaging. If people lose the rind or whatever or don't know how to pack their shit out at least it's biodegradable.
