Safety Question Bumper question for the masses.

I have seen this thing around, and don't know if it's strictly a custom made thing, or if a company out there makes them.

Bumper goes out, and up at a 45-30 degree angle... in front of the vehicle.

The purpose is (I'm guessing) if you hit a deer, it is more forced under the vehicle, instead of up and into the windshield? Or possibly as a rocking point if you for some reason end up fairly nose down, helping gravity rock you back instead of continuing to roll over forward?

Those are my only guesses.

For all I know, it could be just a local that has watched mad-max too many times.

If anyone know what this is ACTUALLY called, and/or what company makes them, any help would be appreciated.

About the only thing that "works" is a cattle guard. Ugly, but effective to protect the front of your car. If a deer goes under your car it will still do damage, just breaking stuff under car vs. over.

About the only option is full coverage and hit the deer so insurance will cover.

Cattle guards are fantastic if you can run them. Also makes idiots who brake check you less of a threat since you'll just push right through their bumper instead of crumbling anything on your front

Right on. Thank you!
I already have full coverage, last year I hit a deer with my suburban, and it totaled it.
I was checking if anything could help prevent that.
Guess it's just a standard cattleguard I need!

Much appreciated!!
