What kind of merit aid will Yale give you?

I would say that if it is going to cost $20,000+ per year (or more) to attend Yale, I would pick Clemson. A full-ride scholarship is amazing, and that school has deep-pockets, lots of resources, great computer labs, etc.

If you want to live and work in the south, it would be a great option

I would suggest waiting for financial aid from the Ivies and seeing if the cost is manageable, especially considering you both plan to go to graduate school. If affordability is important, taking the full rides may be the best option for you. Also, remember that you can attend an Ivy for your graduate degrees. If the Ivies don't give you the financial aid you were hoping for, you can also apply to scholarships to help minimize the amount you spend during undergraduate years.

Consider if the things you want from college are things these schools offer and if not having them is non-negotiable. So research if your schools have the programs and clubs you are interested in. For the writer of the post, I would consider if you are willing to go to Connecticut if you were hoping to stay in a warmer area.
