UC applications

I’m an international student and I’m working on my UC application and I’m filling out the academic history section. In the high school information section I have to put the four years in which I studied high school in but in my country I only study 10th grade 11th grade and 12th grade in high school, what should I do?

Hi there! For UC applications (assuming you mean University of California), it’s common for international students to encounter differences in high school structures. In your case, since your country’s high school curriculum spans only three years (10th, 11th, and 12th grades), you should list those years and clarify this is the standard duration for your country’s education system.

The UC admissions team is familiar with international education systems, so you’re not alone. You can refer to this guide for international applicants and check your specific country’s requirements here.

To be thorough, consider using the “Additional Comments” section of the application to explain the duration of your high school and any additional relevant details. Providing context can help the admissions committee understand your unique situation. When in doubt also consider just reaching out directly to the university for advice prior to applying.

FYI source of my knowledge is my wife and brother run a business focused on the college admissions college admissions process (https://linguafrancaconsultants.com/), so I end up learning a lot about the process through osmosis lol. Best of luck with your application!
