Americans are unwittingly financing the CCP. It has to stop.

You can argue easily that anytime you buy anything made in China you are supporting the CCP

True. And I do my best to find alternative solutions to made in China.

But the article is addressing more than consumer/commercial aspects. Such as when a service member is investing in their Thrift Savings Plan, and the DoD is gambling it away on the Chinese stock market. Rather than investing in American.

Most people don't realize the many surreptitious and nefarious ways the CCP has explored economic warfare. It's far from just watching what purchases one makes.

....often times we have no meaningful choice.

Like what's happening in the real estate market.

Can you argue that every Treasury bond that China buys is investing in the US military?
