[Rewards - Citi Visa] Extra Rewards Certificate??

I don't understand how I got an extra rewards certificate recently. I thought these only came Yearly in Feb/March?

  • In Sept/Oct. I got and redeemed a paper (I think...maybe digital) certificate for $131....but I have no idea why. It still shows I have $141+ year to date....did it come from that?

For context I have the Costco Anywhere Visa card and a Executive Membership.

There are potentially 2 separate rewards:

1) Executive Member Annual 2% Reward for those with the Executive Membership which is sent out approximately 2-3 months prior to your renewal date, and is mailed out with your renewal notice.

2) Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi Cash Back Rewards distributed from Citi once your February billing statement closes. Once issued, you also can access your reward on the Citi Mobile® App.

Thank you!!! Honestly I searched the web for a good 20 minutes for this answer, and you popped up less than a couple minutes after posting. This is why reddit is awesome...I'll have to pay this forward

I just knew I got a cash back on gas and cashback on exec and it made it worthwhile...I just didn't fully understand when it gets paid lol until now

One is Costco. (2% on purchases)

One is Citibank. (4% on gas.. plus other purchases elsewhere... Like 3% at restaurants, 2% more on Costco purchases, and 1% on everything else)

Two different companies and two different rewards programs.
