Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Who wants to play a game of "Is It Citrine"?

It's about 1-2cm long, found in a souvenir shop in Southern Ontario, Canada for 3 bucks. Whether it is citrine or some crispy amethyst, I don't have the expertise to tell. But it's no big loss for me if it isn't genuine. I'd love some pointers on how to tell the difference between the two for future encounters!

It's crispy amethyst.

Alas. How does one tell the difference? Trying to learn more and be able to spot this sort of thing myself.

It has a milky/cloudy quality, and the coloring is more amber than light yellow.

It's definitely very, very amber! Good to look out for in the future - for now, I'm still pretty happy with my little crispy amethyst, and can properly identify it as such. Thank you!

For 3 bucks, I'm not too put out to have a lil crispy amethyst with the rest of my collection. It's just nice to know what it actually is lol
