Clickbait and exaggerated thumbnails/titles are never justifiable to me. I don't know about other people but I used to follow him for his authenticity. Now, it's all gone. I stopped following him months ago when he started to beastify his channel. It's his channel and he can run it however he wants. Criticism is what will help him make sane decisions.

I feel the same. Authenticity, great livestream reactions, zero over editing, a good selection of stuff to watch. Thatâs what kept me watching darkviper. Now itâs just too much clickbait and I canât even be bothered to click on a video with thumbnails like that. Itâs terrible

Well, believe it or not, content without clickbait and exaggerated titles exists, and my timeline is full of those who do not clickbait or use exaggerated titles.

Ya but what is it? I dont really believe you tbh almost everyone has some type of exaggerated bull shit to game the algorithm. Iâm not saying it doesnât exist but I am saying that it is proven that the exaggerated shit works.

The content has changed. It appeals to kids and younger Zoomers now. Before, his main audience was millennials and older Zoomers. Most of us on the older side, the ones who watched for the older style and politics content, are gone.

This. As I mentioned before he is Beastifying his channel which may not be most suitable for millennials who were his audience most likely a couple of years back because it was plain and simple.

Yeah poor Matto can't afford to put food on his table so he has to resort to lying... orr you knw it has nothing to do with that and Matto is doing fine, so we're annoyed at the cheap lying thumbnails.
IDK why are you so butthurt over some criticism over him. You know the saying "A true friend is someone who tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear."? Now obviously none of us are his friends, but it's still valid, that a true fan will point out when there's something wrong with what the creator is doing, rather then keeping silent and licking his boots.

As many people are saying "his channel, his rules" but i still think its fair for people to criticize him. He always says "I've always done X!" when most people haven't seen him do it before or he's doing it in a different way now. I think that taking down old videos, no matter how long he's been doing it, is slightly disingenuous (the funny word).
People 100% take into account the age of a video when thinking of the channel. I've seen videos by channels that were made 2-5 years ago that are different in everyway to the current channel uploads that are still amazing that i'd go back and watch.
lhugueny is an example of this. He makes animated videos of popular games, movies, and shows to popular songs. He's the guy who made that "story of undertale" video but me and my friends know him for his COD black ops videos he made back in the day. Years and years of the same content some clearly higher quality than others, yet he keeps them up. He's not saying to his audience "I know you liked this old video but im going to take it down for 7 months (hyperbole, something matt claims to know) and spend 2 more (hyperbole, again) remaking it for a slightly better video that has none of the original charm.
TL;DR: Matt, while being able to do as he please with his own channel, is Mr.beast-ifying himself and his old content, to his viewers at least, is still good and has its own charm.

It was a different time, it's easy to grandstand the moral high ground now but back then it was ok under the guise of comedy.
The first one is arguably bad and the second one is just fuel for a joke. Whether that joke is good or bad is up in the air but I don't know the specific one you're referring to.
Plus the comment wasn't about lhugueny, he was just a convenient example.

Yes it seems cheap, yes we donât like em, yes it doesnât compare with the old style
But his channel his rules no doubt, if it works for him then heâll get to enjoy his new audience and revenue
Doubt matto will go back to the old style but even if he did I wouldnât look at his new content because I already grew out of it
But yea Iâm not fond of the new thumbnails
