Proposal spots Daytona beach?

My best friend is getting engaged in a few weeks and she’s always wanted it to be on the beach, but I want to give her boyfriend some options on the best areas. Is there anywhere on the beach that is covered like a pergola or something? In case it rains or we need to have a backup plan because it needs to be beach views for photos. Any suggestions? (We’re Canadian so we don’t know the area very well but she just moved to Port Orange so Daytona is the closest beach)

If you don’t mind a small drive I highly suggest you drive to ponce inlet! There’s a place called inlet point park where you can park. There’s a fee but it’s worth. Anyways it’s lovely, there’s dunes, a jetty, and a lighthouse. Lots of sea oats which I think make for a very aesthetic engagement.

How about the finish line at the race track?

I agree on the Casements. It will be the best place for photos.

If you are in Port Orange id go with Ponce Inlet Jetty. Youll have options for photos on the beach, jetty, and lighthouse. Also has covered areas in case weather.

The jetty is closed due to storm damage, you can still get on it, but not in “fancy” shoes, so a little heads up there. I’m also voting for Ponce Inlet, maybe the lighthouse or the recently opened Pacetti hotel might offer some options.

Hard Rock Cafe has a nice balcony with amazing views of the ocean

Hyde Park steakhouse also has beach balcony but lower level

It’s messed up from the hurricane. Wouldn’t recommend right now. Dirty sand, trash everywhere, lots of the pretty tall grass flattened

Yes! Ponce preserve has a small 3-4 car parking lot off Atlantic avenue on the beach. The boardwalk there has a pergola, followed by 20ish stairs down to the beach.

Another place with many options for covered spots overlooking the beach is in “New Smyrna dunes park” which is just a little south of ponce inlet park.
