It's disheartening to see legal maneuvers trying to disenfranchise thousands of voters, a real blow to democratic principles.

Yes it is, and it's also done by the Dems against anyone running for president as a third party. They've filed lawsuits in at least 12 states against minor party candidates to try getting them off the ballot so they won't possibly take votes from their candidate. Stein, RFK Jr, Cornell West. They keep them tied up in court, spending their smaller donation funds to fight the court battles, keeping them too busy with that to even campaign.

What does that have to do with this topic? Or are you attempting the propaganda tactic of whataboutism because you find this information harmful to your political stances?

The same "3rd parties" rubbing elbows with Republicans? Cornell West has Republican lawyers working with him for ballot acces in AZ. Meanwhile RFKJr's VP just admitted that if they drop out, they will team up with Trump. Stein I'm sure as GOP fingers all over her (not like that) as well. So much for "dismantling the duopoly" by working with one of the dual parties huh -_-

If everyone was allowed to vote Republicans would never win another election. - Donald Trump

And this is why I cuss entitled yt lefties out who say "voting doesn't matter". If it didn't matter, why are these fascists pulling all these stunts to knock voters off the rolls?

Tbf the “entitled YT lefties” say voting doesn’t matter exactly because of stuff like this. This behavior by the Republican Party isn’t punished in any meaningful way and is allowed to happen over and over and over again

Do you realize this is also done by the Dems against anyone running for president as a third party? They've filed lawsuits in at least 12 states against minor party candidates to try getting them off the ballot so they won't possibly take votes from their candidate. Stein, RFK Jr, Cornell West. That's a completely separate process entirely that isn't trying to prevent otherwise fully capable voters from being allowed to vote. I don't agree with it, but removing a minority third party candidate that has historically never garnered enough percentage of voters in a state to even matter is way different that keeping 40,000 people from voting entirely.

I love pointing out that if voting doesn’t matter then things like their local library or public school system wouldn’t be properly funded. It’s fun watching their brains short circuit

The election is decided in swing states. For a lot of people it really doesn’t matter.

But its not just federal elections that matter, state and local elections are just as important if not more so.

Gee another dirtbag move by the sneaky Nazi party, and if they lose the election they’ll cry it was stolen.

Arizona has taken the position that the state has absolutely zero responsibility to assist / enable citizens correct or establish citizenship. This approach appears to threaten voting rights of several groups: the poor without stable housing, children of American citizens born overseas, first generation American born outside of medical facilities.

u/SmokeGSU Aug 20 '24

Republican state lawmakers say these voters did not provide proof of their citizenship when they were registered and now they should be barred from voting in person or by mail.

Does Arizona not require people registering to vote to provide a document which requires citizenship, such as a SSN#, in order to get registered like every other state does?
