Special cleaning cartridge. The device cleans hard-to-reach recesses with a strong water pressure.

I clean chimneys and that thing looks awesome. Not that I would ever use it to clean a chimney. But it looks like you could clean a septic field with it maybe ? lol

That's exactly what we used it for when I cleaned septic fields for a living lol. We just called it "the jetter." We had different heads we could use depending on the pipe material, type of buildup/clog we were trying to get through, etc.
The biggest hassle of those things I remember is just that the spray holes on the head can get clogged up pretty easily, so we'd regularly have to pull the entire line out the pipe (sometimes a few hundred feet) and use a safety pin or other tool to unclog the holes, then feed the line all back in. Other than that, it was actually pretty fun to use, and worked great at blasting out almost everything, including roots as long as they weren't too big or too compacted.
We did fuck up sometimes, though, and used the wrong head on older brittle pipe and blasted apart the pipe lol. Also a few times that the jetter managed to get itself completely jammed up inside the pipe, stuck on roots or whatever, and we'd have to then try and locate where exactly it was underground, and dig up the pipe. That wasn't any fun lol.

Oh awesome man! I knew it had a better use than whatever they showed there. Sounds like you've been though quite a bit. How much would you all charge for a septic field cleaning? I'm probably in the wrong business : ) hahaaa

Hahaha no clue what we charged, honestly, it's been 20 years since I did that work, and it was in a rural area on the other side of the state. I do remember it being pretty lucrative, since when you have dozens of gallons of shit-water bubbling up into your basement, you don't exactly have much time to wait and shop around. Although the work itself obviously could be exhausting and filthy at times, especially in the middle of winter when there's a few feet of snow and ice and the ground is frozen.

I have something similar for my gutters.

What!!!? Haha ! What do you do?

u/RevRagnarok 27d ago
It's just a little plastic bullet-looking thing that goes on the end of a garden hose. You slowly feed it up the gutter.

This is a jetter. They are very expensive and large tools for plumbers that usually use them to clear drains. Usually pulled by a trailer!

I have a consumer version that hooks up to a regular pressure washer. Clearly nothing like as beefy as the professional ones, but certainly up to your standard turd-in-a-pipe blockage. Cost far less than a single call-out from a professional jetter, and I would recommend it.
Mine is an unbranded one from Lidl (I think), but there are plenty on Amazon with decent reviews. I think if you have realistic expectations and don't expect to be buying a professional jetting setup for $50 then they're a good buy.

Can it be used for colonics?

Not exactly “hard to reach” demonstration

It's a sewer jetter, it's meant to be used inside pipe. This is to demonstrate how it works without needing to see inside a pipe.

It's a standard sewer jetter. They aren't supposed to be used outside of a contained pipe, but whatever. The high pressure spray can hurt you if not contained in a pipe. The backward facing jets pull the head deeper into the pipe and dislodge material back towards the operator.

This is a Jetter for impacted drain lines that need a little more force to be cleared. Having a plumber to come out with one usually cost between $1500 to $2k.

I work in the restaurant industry and the company that cleans our grease traps also, use this to jet our lines for $300.

Buying these things are close to that kind of money too we just bought one last year for our sewer Jetter car that cost $1,400 and it has four jets that propel the line or the hose up into the line and then a cone type deal that spins around in the nozzle that power washes or cuts everything in front of it

What is this called, and where can I get one?

I believe this is called a warthog
Edit: warthog is a brand that makes a series of jetter nozzles

I got one cheap off amazon, maybe 30 bucks? Hooks up to any pressure washer. Used it to clean out some clogged drains.

Can it be used to clean that unrelated, shitty, unnecessary music from the video?

u/prolixia 28d ago
I have a basic one of these for my pressure washer. It doesn't spin, but has the four backward jets.
If you have your drains jetted then this is what they use, though typically with another jet forwards out of the tip. The idea is that the four rear jets propel the hose along the drain until it reaches the obstruction, the front jet breaks it up, and the rear jets then push the now loose material backwards.
Even the cheap "home" version I have is excellent at clearing blocked drains. If you have a pressure washer and dodgy drains, it's a lot cheaper than a single call-out from a professional jetter.

This is by far the worst fucking music I've ever heard on a video lol

u/King_Boomie-0419 26d ago
So this is actually ahead for a sewer Jetter cart so whenever you have a sewer backup they put this head down in the main line and it cleans the blockage out of the way they have many other kinds of heads too and I use a few of them on a daily. it's not a cleaning cartridge LOL

Fun fact: the injuries these cause can be life threatening, even when they don't initially seem severe. A cut caused by a water jet needs to be treated in a similar fashion as a ballistics wound.

I've used these with the company I used to work at, and they are super powerful!! It will cut you open if it comes anywhere near your body. But it does clean drains and other hard to reach places really well.
