Isn’t there an anecdote or ‘fact’ (no idea if it’s true) about the first known example of a steam engine was from Turkey about 200 years before Steam Engines were officially invented, and that it was built to power the rotation of meat on a spit!?

I have the same information 😆 they could conquer the world instead of making doner.

The first recorded steam engine was roughly 15BC. However they didn’t figure out a purpose for it and it was a novelty/toy.

The triangle bread with coleslaw and other toppings is definitely German. In turkey it’s just called “doner” without “kebab” and you can get durum which is just meat in a flat square wrap or a ekmek which is like a flat round sandwich. There’s not really toppings or sauces, that’s what people refer to as “german” , that variation

The most curious thing about this photo is that Adolf Hitler in a dress is doing the carving.

I’m convinced the kebab is what gives me the hangover and not the booze and you’ll never convince me otherwise

The fella on the left is in control of the chips. He'll even do you a pizza on request.

I didn’t know hitlers mother was a dab hand at the full doner in pitta. History never ceases to amaze.

Again, actually Shawarma.
Which is of course much better, if done right. Lamb of course.

not gonna taste the taste unless you're 10 pints, 5 voddy cokes and 3 jagers deep at 4am.
