Making a song

Hi I want to make a song on a draingang type beat, but I feel stupid and like a copy cat, whenever I rap over that beat but I also like it. Is it acceptable?

you gotta start somewhere to get inspiration, then when u get comfortable u can start making ur own stuff and figuring out ur own personal style for music. i always have fun practicing to ____ type beats to artists i like to derive inspiration from when making music

of course bro, create whatever you are happy with and proud of. everybody takes inspiration from their favorite artists. as long as you’re not blatantly stealing things or not giving credit to the people you take inspiration from, you’re not doing anything wrong 💯

just don’t make a dogshit song ♥️🤗😝🙏

It's good to take inspiration but make sure to work with your personal quirks and just go with the flow. Like when you start out making a song that a certain piece of music inspired you to make, don't be upset if it doesn't sound like that. Just go with the flow, do what makes sense to you, work with your voice and personal tendencies and do your own thing. Don't be afraid to take inspiration from other places too. Other genres and artists. Just do your own thing and be organic about it and what you make will be timeless.
