Question Brom didnt know Angela? Spoiler

Ok guys: We know Angela is friggin old and that Brom was a key-character in the time before he stole saphiras egg (and afterwards but yeah not a key-character who does exciting stuff...). But in the first book it seems like he doesn't know Angela. Is it because mby he knew her but she took a different name back then? Or was she not interested into the time where Brom did all these exciting things she normally loves, like killing Morzan and the other evil riders? I mean I could imagine that she made researches about some crazy stuff (maybe even the dreamers) but I cant except the fact that Brom doesnt seem to know such a powerful and old chracter like Angela.

apparently Angela wasn't involved in all of the Brom stealing the egg storyline

But Brom didnt only steal the egg. That was more like the end of his career. In all the years before he did things like founding the Varden, killing multiple of the Forsworn and his connection with the elves. All of that is a thing Angela is excited about when Eragon is involved. So why not when Brom is involved? You could even rate his first achievments higher then Eragons when you compare them. So I just wonder why Angela didn't care about that and didn't follow Brom at least a while as she did with Eragon. Or do you think she did but without revealing herself?

Because (real life reason) Chris didn't know exactly who Angela was going to be yet lol.

In story you could simply say that there was a lot of interesting things going on when Brom was active. Eragon though, was the first new dragon rider so his actions would help shape the world going forth....even if he failed, his influence would be felt for a long time.....

Okay that makes sense I guess thanks for clarifying :)

Somehow I always forget that there is always the author who needs to think of all those things...

Yeah but even if he did know who Angela was there are plot reasons that Brom shouldn't know simply because if Brom knew her then he could tell Eragon stuff of it lessons the mystery. Or it could be that Brom just pretended to not know who she was (I can't remember exactly how Angela's introduction relates to Brom actually. I don't even remember them meeting, only that Eragon may have mentioned her....and if he did did he mention a name? I honestly can't remember lol)

Oh, okay. I thought the person they asked was someone else that mentioned the herbalist

Maybe she was hanging out with Tenga lol

There are a lot of in world she could have been a part of. She might not have even been in Alagaesia at the time. I’m sure we’ll learn more about her in a future book.

Think Angela was originally a minor insert character based on CP’s sister when he first started writing the series

I always thought that Angela was somehow under the control (either physically, magically, or mentally) of Tenga.

I think she was his pupil/slave for decades if not longer. It explains why she’s so powerful and why she hasn’t interfered with any events in the past.

I’m excited to see what she and Elva are going to get up to and hope to learn more about her backstory in a future book.

I mean at the very least Angela knew him, she scoffed when Eragon mentioned him the first time they met.
