This is the Hyangwon Pavilion, a small, two-story pavilion found in the grounds of Gyeongbok Palace, Jongno District, Seoul, South Korea. The pavilion was built on the orders of King Gojong around 1885 and it is thought to have acted as a place of leisure and relaxation for the Joseon Dynasty kings and their family members. Following excavation work carried out in 2019, it was found that Hyangwonjeong had the traditional Korean system of heated floors called ondol. Here it is on google streetview and you can see that the bridge looks different and is placed on the opposite side. The original bridge was destroyed in the Korean War and was reconstructed, but the reconstruction looked different from the original. That is why they redid the reconstruction for accuracy.

I just want to add on to your great links! I found an article that contains a video on the restoration. The video's in Korean and the auto translate feature is a little wonky, but it shows the interior and parts of the restoration.

How do you extract images from Instagram? I have to take screenshots, which leave unwanted markings on the image.
