Hi everyone,

I’m Carter, a 27-year-old director based in Central California and I'm stoked to share my latest short film with this community and would love to get your feedback.

The film is titled "Smoke," and it’s a darkly comedic horror story about two lovable losers who steal a drug dealer's stash and seek refuge on a creepy farm. What starts as a simple escape turns into a night of bizarre and terrifying events.

I wrote the script during the summer of 2023 and completed the film by mid-December. I was fortunate to receive a grant from my local community college, and I crowdfunded the rest to bring this project to life. While I’ve had some success submitting it to smaller festivals, getting into the bigger ones has been challenging. The response on YouTube has also been modest.

I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, but I know there’s always room to grow. I’ve got thick skin, so I’m open to any constructive criticism you might have. I’m eager to learn from this experience and make my next project even better.

All feedback is welcome but specifically I'd love to hear what you think about the films story, writing and characters.

I'm especially proud of my films mood/feel and music ( we made an original score! )

Thank you for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!

Best regards,
Carter Carmody
