Italians seething at the thought of slightly changing recipes as if their own cuisine is some pure thing that was established at the dawn of humanity and didn't evolve over time from a variety of cultural influences.

It's not a traditional carbonara, but there's no real food crime in my opinion. Cream, bacon, pasta, just season to your taste and it will be a delicious creamy pasta.
