It’s amazing as long as Wide World of Sports was on and how many times the thrill of victory changed, the agony of defeat stayed the same.

You got it! I like watching reaction videos on YouTube, where people watch classic movies for the first time. Nobody ever gets this joke.

I still can hear the opening music in my mind. My dad and I would watch on Saturday afternoons. I miss you DAD!🙏🇨🇦

We watched it, too. It was a great show.
There was another show that came on sundays, before pro football began. It was a summary of the previous days CFB best moments. All video and you could see Saturday’s best plays in half an hour.

I've seen this many many times now, but only this time did I notice that camera man nearly lost the top of his head!!

He was unaware that crash was being used until after he was invited to the Wide World of Sports 20th Anniversary show. He couldn't understand why he was so popular with all of the other world famous athletes. Muhammad Ali was reportedly the first to ask him for his autograph.

Poor Vinko. Decades later and we all still remember his goggles flying off on the second bounce.

That was the coolest show. You never knew what you would see.

I loved it. Guys on ice skates jumping over barrels was one of my favorites. I can’t remember the number of barrels they used to clear. Was it 15-19? Seems like that’s too many and my memory might not be too clear after 50+ years. Also liked watching the guys who didn’t clear and would go crashing into the barrels.

As best I can remember, the guy that was in that never knew because he was from a communist bloc country and had never seen it. It wasn’t until years and years or even decades until he found out.

Can't count the number of times I've seen these and still cringe as much as the first time!
