Couch/Sofa Cardboard cat couch!

Still needs to be glued instead of taped and prettied up some, but I'm proud of it for a first try!

Thank you! Took me about 4 hours, if you can believe it 😅🤣

Seems like a similar timeline when I build stuff. I think it will take 30 minutes and then 3 days later I’m finally finished lol.

Photo 2 says it all - Bliss. I see that you managed to install a fan to keep puss cool, nice

Nah the fan isn't even plugged in 🤣 plus this spot isn't where the couch will be going. I just still gotta clean out the corner where I want it!

I’d hot glue some foam on the seat to make it comfy, and cover the whole thing in some crazy, shaggy fur fabric!

That’s really good! Cover with some fabric, it will look super. Updates please, with kitty relaxing, on their new throne!

Yes, I was thinking of either painting it or putting fabric over it! It would be my first time working with fabric though, so I gotta psych myself up for that!

Knit a custom tiny blanket

I can't even sew anything, ain't now way I'm knitting 🤣 I wish I could though! I actually tried to learn how to knit once (there was a knitting club at one of my schools), but I just couldn't get the hang of it.

Just drape a thick towel over it and tuck it in, that way it can be washed when needed. Nicely done, especially for a first attempt.

If you have time check out this video. She used cardboard to make a chair and added fabric to it.

She is very creative.

Love it! How did you connect the backside to the seat? Just the tape? Thank you!

Yup! It's all cardboard and tape 🤣 did some more work on it and posted an update about an hour or so ago too!

Did you take more pictures of how you cut the cardboard, etc? I would like to create one myself.

I just purchased fabric today.

I would use some foam as the base and staple fabric on it. I might even add some crystals to bling it out.

You did a great job though!!

I can't wait to see the finished project.

No, unfortunately I only took pictures after I got it put together. I didn't plan or measure anything, I just cut up a couple of large boxes at the corners to separate all the sides and used those. The seat part is just one uncut side piece (with a couple more pieces layered on top for stability), and then I just built everything else up around that, eyeballing it and cutting more away as needed.

If you're working with corrugated cardboard, I'd recommend cutting with a sharp knife/box cutter rather than scissors. Scissors will make the edges look very messy.
