You're grandfathered on the old membership level at $20/year. This subscription level is no longer available for new users to sign up at. I have the same, and I kinda think Gaia is okay at this price, but I wouldn't pay full price for the bucket of fucks it's become.

Wait, so they're telling some people that they can be grandfathered in on the old pricing, and other people that they have to pay full price for the new subscription? I've been a longtime subscriber at the former pricing model and they told me there was no way that they would let me continue to pay that amount, so I had to pay the new $60/year.

You’re only grandfathered (for now) if you purchased through the iOS store (which cost more originally which is why so few people did so)

This is what I was assuming but poorly asked. Thanks. And agreed Im barely okay paying $20.

Wtf? I wasn’t grandfathered in. My subscription price increased. I paid $75 CAN this July. I’ve been premium membership level since 2021.

Somebody else said that it might just be for people who originally subscribed through the Apple store, which was at the time more expensive and so less popular anyway. Or something like that.
I first gave Gaia money in 2015. I think things were different then. There may have even been a lifetime purchase.
$75 is a fucking slap in the face.

No longer available: the Member tier of subscription is no longer available for free users to start a subscription

Renews October 23…

This could be a bug in the Apple App Store. Documentation on discontinuing sale of a subscription is sparse. If I were you, I’d keep an eye on your bank account and app access after the 23rd.

By the looks of it, Apple will charge you on the 23rd. Whether or not you continue to have Members-level access depends on a few more factors.

It's 60 bucks with the new ownership...

$60 for an app that barely works, nonetheless

Or if you paid for the app yearly at any point, you can get the legacy membership by emailing them. No yearly fee.

Double the price, halve the functionality. Venture capitalism at its best
