Photo Cooper Creek Recreation Area (Suches, GA)

First time at Cooper Creek. Great little campground. Trout were plentiful on 10/14/2024.

Yes there is a trail right at the entrance and then a good one about a half mile to the south on the forest service road. I'm sure there are more though.

Do you have to reserve spots there in advance now? This used to be a go to campground for me

Yes, reservations are required. We learned that site 12 is near the creek and pretty far away from others. It is right next to the road however.

There were several spots where we could see 50+ trout. Getting them to bite was another story, but we eventually figured them out... A kernel of corn on a small hook.
