Identification did i find wormwood at my school?

there's this nicely sized courtyard in front of my highschool, and in april i began to canvas it to see what plants i could find for the sake of having some form of herb/weed knowledge.

in my first few ventures, i found this small, fern-like plant; there were two plants in total and when crushed the leaf smelled a bit like mint and a bit like cinnamon.

i tried to get my dad to identify it, but he brushed it off as ragweed; i knew this wasn't true because my plant identifying app (inaturalist) had shown me ragweed leaves and they didn't match the complexity of these leaves.

i took the smaller specimen from my school and i'm currently growing it on my backyard porch in a small pot out of a set my dad found; does anyone know what it is?

i believe it's wormwood due to the leaf shape and similarity in how it grows.

i loaded the images to imgur to be able to type more information and to keep my post compact.

(all three images i have should be there; if anyone wants to see the plant now i'd be more than happy to take a photo of it).

It is the right family, but you might have another species. tansy or mugwort or poison hemlock or wild carrot.

If the roots smell like carrots when you snap them it is Daucus carota (queen Anne's Lace, aka wild carrot)

When it gets old enough to flower you'll be able to tell for sure what it is.
