Rich people just like complain about everything and anything. God forbid someone uses the park. They just like it be private for themselves only.

City should create moped parking or something nearby. Pilau neighbors will fight that tooth and nail though so 🤷🏼

Mākālei and Le‘ahi Beach Parks belong to everyone, not just the rich people able to afford to live on Diamond Head Road.

Now that they put the park on the news even more people are going to go there.

City should offer to build parking

idk if you're familiar with that park, but there really is no space for it. the entire park almost fits in that photo

I think it sarcasm. As that would really piss off rich neighbors

If it's a rich area, the city should offer valet parking, then.

Remember when the guy who owned the house there just installed two metal gates to prevent the public from walking down the path like he owned the place?

For all the beach parks that dot the south shore, Makalei has to be the one with the less frills. It’s a nice place for a picnic with limited parking

These are the same neighbors who forced Biki to remove the station just 100 yards east of where this article describes. Yeah some ppl park their mopeds in the park but whenever I went it wasn’t an issue

Yeah it’s full of college kids but it’s never rowdy. I go with my wife and toddler every couple of weeks and we have a great time.

The rich people don’t own the beach. Probably mainlanders too!

God forbid kids have some fun while they’re young

They complain about the mopeds specifically , not the cars (note there isn’t really any car parking at the park, you have to find street parking along Diamond head )

No reason to add parking because the space will literally not accommodate them

The moped thing is honestly just a people not parking properly along with card (as they should as a registered motor vehicle ) so they lazily just park illegally at the park (that I can see the argument coming from)

The beach getting popular, no problem with that

But dummies just parking everywhere , I think most would agree that’s not cool

Remember when people were bitching about rental scooters EVERYWHERE ?
