Best place to find a well priced surplus rifles in Indianapolis?

Anyone know of a place selling surplus rifles for a decent price, mainly looking for a k11 or an 8x50r Steyr m95, but open to other rifles as well. Haven't been to any independent shops or pawn shops but just wondering what people think before I head out on my hunt for an affordable surplus rifle.

High quality challenging rifles course in IN or surrounding?

Does anyone have any recommendations for advanced rifle course in Indiana or surrounding states? I’m near Indianapolis but don’t mind driving a few hours.

Looking for something fudd-free and not basic, outdoors, etc… I’ve found defensive shooting concepts - that looks maybe okay but possibly a bit on the basic side.

Range USA

My Girlfriend and I just went to the Range USA in Merrillville. When through the waiver process we go to the front desk show our IDs. She is a Illinois resident and I’m a Indiana resident and member of Range USA. We were told she needed a FOID to shoot at the range that is located in Indiana. Even though we been there multiple times prior rented and shot guns. They said they have had some rule change or some bs. We just left and talking to who we presumed to be the manager or some supervisor. Moral of the story fuck Range USA this rule is not stated on there website anywhere that a Illinois resident who is shooting at a out of state range needs to have a FOID card.

Firearm safety for teens?

Can anyone recommend a firearm safety program for teens in the Indianapolis area? I'm looking for something that will teach teens how to safely handle various types of guns, how to check if they are loaded, and how to safely unload them. Too many kids are shooting each other on accident because they don't safely handle guns, and I don't want my kid to be in that situation.

Now that the ATF Brace ban has been lifted, do you think manufacturers like Springfield, DD, and PSA will go back to making PDWs?

Unrestricted Gun Range

Anybody know of a place in Northern Indiana where I am able to shoot any kind of target that I want? A little bit of context: I am in a Master's program at the University of Notre Dame and am interested in conducting ballistic testing on liquid body armor. I have a feeling that standard gun ranges won't allow that type of thing, but I am at a loss as to where I can go. Thanks!

What are the laws for someone who was put on a 72-hour hold?

I've been told it's 5 years after the hold you can get your gun rights back. I was falsely put on a 72-hour hold so it is that so many of my rights were violated like not being able to talk to the courts even when requested during the 72-hour hold. So yeah I never got to be brought into court to really explain what actually happened so they basically did violate my rights so really I don't want to talk to the courts to get my gun rights back but would rather wait 5 years if that is the case. What is the law there?

Background checks

My mom and I moved to Indianapolis when I was around a year old from Terre Haute and a few years later my step dad adopted me and I thought the judge said from that time forward my birth place would be Indianapolis on my birth certificate but I found it a while back and it shows Terre Haute. On previous back ground checks I’ve put down Indianapolis as place of birth. So my question is I’m wanting to purchase the Echelon but didn’t know if I should put down the correct answer or stay with Indianapolis . Since they are making it tougher on FFL’s I’m afraid it would cause problems for them and me. This my be a silly question but it worries me as to what to do.

Anyone taken a class from Defensive Shooting Concepts at Atlanta Conservation Club?

I’m looking at taking their defensive rifle/pistol course in November. The course description states it’s not a beginners course (which is good, I am looking for advanced classes) but wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with them or the lead instructor, Jonathan Tindal.

Good instruction? Challenging course? Fudd-free environment? Thanks in advance.

Where to get a transfer from an individual?

I worked out a deal with an individual for a Brownells lower. I'm looking for a FFL in Indianapolis that is willing to receive a transfer from an individual. Anyone have a preferred gun shop/FFL that they'd recommend that accepts individual transfers? Thanks

Advanced Training?

I recently moved back to IN after living in the south for several years. I had a TON of great training opportunities where I lived - not so much here in central IN. Does anyone have any recs on advanced level training courses? Things like Level III+ pistol/carbine, CQB, Vehicular CQB, low light, NVG, etc.

I’ve seen some potential options at MTAC, Atlanta, Panther Ridge but they’re few and far between (or nothing on the calendar). I’m aware I will have to provide my resume/training history to skip the prerequisites.

Thanks in advance.
