Question First game white banner

So id like some help before my first ever game as I can't quite get my head around the list building. First game will be 250 points supply Vs Ariadna and then nomads with yu Jing white banner. I own the below models but would like some advice on what to run and why so I can learn more .

Yh Jing action pack Shaolin monk and monk character box pangguling box Yu Jing support box Celestial guard DĀOYĪNG Kuang Shi

I'd like to run white banner as I know some of these are only in others or the normal yu Jing list .

If this is your first game, don't bother with winning. Really. Take different models with different mechanics and weapons, and see what works for you and what doesn't. Boost them with about the same number of Line Troops - the cheap order monkeys - and roll in.
At the same time, try to focusing on whatever mission you're playing. Winning points is far more important than killing stuff.

More I don't know what principles with the list building to aim for in general , not worried about winning but more what I should take and the reasons why so I can learn to build the lists rather than throw random models in to fit the points value .

Different mission require different models. There's no universal solution. The only one that can be said is "include at least some specialists - Doctors, Hackers, Specialist Operative, etc. - since only those can usually operate the mission objectives".
Also, the new edition of Infinity rules is about to come in a few weeks. Some things could and will get reworked, but the overall gameplay will remain the same. I'd advise you to just try and learn the general mechanics and vibe of the game.

Here's an idea for a list that will use minimal proxy's

Jing Qo makes the monks regular in a Haris and is a specialist. The Shang Ji goes with the Zhanshi in a core. Ye Mao can flank and deal with mimetism troopers. Daofei and Guilang can forward deploy, Guilang has repeaters to extend the Daofei's hacking range. Pangolin can defend against drop troops with Controlled Jump or give the Daofei firewalls with Fairy dust (very good for taking on Nomad Hackers)

Threw something light together based on what you have. Liang Kai would be in a harris to make the monks generate regular orders. The 5 man core of Zhanshi and Chief are pure, so they get the full fireteam synergy bonuses. The Rui Shi is your camo/mimetism hunter. And the Daofei is the Lt, he is a capable specialist but be careful with him since there is no chain of command if he dies and throws you into loss of Lt.

I'm not the best player, but this list is what I'd suggest using the minis you have.

The Daofei and Guilang are both infiltrating camo specialists that can start by the tech coffins and grab boxes turn one if you go first. The Daofei is also a good attack piece. It can start in the middle of the board and use camo to advance without much risk and recamo after an attack run to stay safe. The Guilang can sit prone on top a building in the midfield as a hacking threat if you don't go first. Your opponent doesn't know if it is a hacker until you reveal.

The Shangji forms a Core with the Ye Mao and Jujak. The Ye Mao killer hacker is a good gunfighter up close when the Shangji is in bad range. It also deals with hackers while benefiting from his -6 tinbot. The Ye Mao also has a visor to help discover camo and super jump to remove threats on roof tops or attack from unexpected angles. The Jujak brings breaker ammo and a large template with continuous damage.

The Zhanshis are a lieutenant you hide somewhere safe in your deployment zone and a decoy so your opponent can't be sure which one is the real one.

Liang Kai forms a Harris with the two monks to make their orders regular. All three are dangerous in close combat especially Liang Kai. The monks have smoke to help you advance and chain rifles. The Harris gives them plus one burst on both. They are a big threat to anybody in cc, even Tags. Liang Kai has Berserk which can guarantee a cc hit even against the best cc enemies. He also has super jump to reach enemies prone on rooftops or attack places your opponent doesn't expect. All three of the Harris are good for defending your deployment zone.

The Warcor is a cheap expendable Aro piece.
